At the beginning,

Was it the word?

Or, at the beginning,

‘Twas the kiss!

- 2 -

The kiss

Is a continent

Yet to be discovered;

- 3 -

Is poetry

The kiss of the soul?

Or is it its mysterious code?

- 4 -

The kiss is revelation (disclosure)

And discovery as well;

- 5 -

Butterflies are

Nature’s kisses?

Flowers are too;

- 6 -

Some women are

Like kisses,

And some are

Like knives

- 7 -

Tyrants’ kisses are poisoned,

And occupier’s kisses are deceptive;

- 8 -

Wishes are

Postponed kisses;

- 9 -

A kiss

After a kiss,

You fall on me,

And I become drenched

With pleasure and joy;

- 10 -

Kisses are

Wings that fly us

To the heights of eternity;

- 11 -

Salty were

The kisses

Of your last farewell;

- 12 -

A mother’s kiss

Is a river

That inundates us (children)

With kindness and salvation;

- 13 -

Rain drops

Are God’s kisses

That purify us of rancor

And bitter mistakes;

- 14 -

Waves are blue kisses

Of the sea;

- 15 -

Whenever it closes on me

I kiss you,

And the gates of divine secrets unfold;

- 16 -

Bombs are

Dirty kisses of war;

- 17 -

Every time I kiss you,

You become more radiant

And more feminine;

- 18 -

Is this a kiss?

Or a firebrand?

- 19 -

The kiss is

A prose poem

Scribbled by

An adventurous lover

On the body of the beloved,

Hence illuminates the world;

Doves are

Kisses of peace;

When I don’t kiss you

And you don’t kiss me,

It means that our souls

Are impaired;

The kiss is a scandal,

And a crime, sometimes;

Adulterated

Is your kiss,

You, coquettish hypocrite!

For the kiss, there is no time

And no place big enough to hold it;

Kiss me

So that I become more graceful

And well to be;

Fruits are

The kisses of trees;

Kisses of “eneriends” (enemy-friends)

Are doubtful;

- 28 -

Earth is

God’s

Endless kiss;

- 29 -

Whenever my lips shiver,

I get the feeling that

You are yearning to kiss me;

Is there any more misery

Than that of lovers,

Who send their kisses

To their far away sweethearts,

By registered mail,

Yet, not delivered?

A beautiful female broadcaster

Is the television's kiss

To the unarmed viewer;

- 32 -

And I kissed you

Till your pulse was glowing;

I felt you inspire,

With ecstasy in fire,

And depart

In a ravishing trance;

Then, again,

Like a phoenix,

From your repose

You rise!

Vision and a dream;

Kisses are

Our messages

On earth

- Here’s a kiss

For your soul,
