life is fine
,I went down to the river
.I set down on the bank
,I tried to think but couldn't
.So I jumped in and sank
!I came up once and hollered
!I came up twice and cried
If that water hadn't a-been so cold
.I might've sunk and died
!But it was Cold in that water! It was cold
I took the elevator
.Sixteen floors above the ground
I thought about my baby
.And thought I would jump down
!I stood there and I hollered
!I stood there and I cried
If it hadn't a-been so high
.I might've jumped and died
!But it was High up there! It was high
,So since I'm still here livin'
.I guess I will live on
--I could've died for love
But for livin' I was born
,Though you may hear me holler
--And you may see me cry
,I'll be dogged, sweet baby
.If you gonna see me die
,Life is fine! Fine as wine! Life is fine!went down to the river
.I set down on the bank
,I tried to think but couldn't
.So I jumped in and sank
!I came up once and hollered
!I came up twice and cried

Daddy
You do not do, you do not do
Any more, black shoe
In which I have lived like a foot
,For thirty years, poor and white
.Barely daring to breathe or Achoo
.Daddy, I have had to kill you
--You died before I had time
,Marble-heavy, a bag full of God
Ghastly statue with one gray toe
Big as a Frisco seal
And a head in the freakish Atlantic
Where it pours bean green over blue
.In the waters off beautiful Nauset
.I used to pray to recover you
.Ach, du
In the German tongue, in the Polish town
Scraped flat by the roller
.Of wars, wars, wars
.But the name of the town is common
My Polack friend
.Says there are a dozen or two
So I never could tell where you
,Put your foot, your root
.I never could talk to you
.The tongue stuck in my jaw
.It stuck in a barb wire snare
,Ich, ich, ich, ich
.I could hardly speak
I thought every German was you
And the language obscene
An engine, an engine
.Chuffing me off like a Jew
.A Jew to Dachau, Auschwitz, Belsen
.I began to talk like a Jew
.I think I may well be a Jew
The snows of the Tyrol, the clear beer of Vienna
.Are not very pure or true
With my gipsy ancestress and my weird luck
And my Taroc pack and my Taroc pack
.I may be a bit of a Jew
,I have always been scared of you
.With your Luftwaffe, your gobbledygoo
And your neat mustache
.And your Aryan eye, bright blue
--Panzer-man, panzer-man, O You
Not God but a swastika
.So black no sky could squeak through
,Every woman adores a Fascist
The boot in the face, the brute
.Brute heart of a brute like you
,You stand at the blackboard, daddy
,In the picture I have of you
A cleft in your chin instead of your foot
But no less a devil for that, no not
Any less the black man who
.Bit my pretty red heart in two
.I was ten when they buried you
At twenty I tried to die
.And get back, back, back to you
.I thought even the bones would do
,But they pulled me out of the sack
.And they stuck me together with glue
.And then I knew what to do
,I made a model of you
A man in black with a Meinkampf look
.And a love of the rack and the screw
.And I said I do, I do
.So daddy, I'm finally through
,The black telephone's off at the root
.The voices just can't worm through
--If I've killed one man, I've killed two
The vampire who said he was you
,And drank my blood for a year
.Seven years, if you want to know
.Daddy, you can lie back now
There's a stake in your fat black heart
.And the villagers never liked you
.They are dancing and stamping on you
.They always knew it was you
.Daddy, daddy, you bastard, I'm through

Shakespeare

Shakespeare

Sonnet 40
:Take all my loves, my love, yea, take them all
?What hast thou then more than thou hadst before
-No love, my love, that thou mayst true love call
.All mine was thine before thou hadst this more
,Then if for my love thou my love receivest
;I cannot blame thee for my love thou usest
But yet be blamed if thou this self deceivest
.By wilful taste of what thyself refusest
,I do forgive thy robb’ry, gentle thief
;Although thou steal thee all my poverty
And yet love knows it is a greater grief
.To bear love’s wrong than hate’s known injury
   , Lascivious grace, in whom all ill well shows
   . Kill me with spites, yet we must not be foes

Love is more thicker than forget

love is more thicker than forget
more thinner than recall
more seldom than a wave is wet
more frequent than to fail

it is most mad and moonly
and less it shall unbe
than all the sea which only
is deeper than the sea

love is less always than to win
less never than alive
less bigger than the least begin
less littler than forgive

it is most sane and sunly
and more it cannot die
than all the sky which only
is higher than the sky

,Bad Girl
,I am a bad girl
,not with revealing shorts
,or a tattoo on my arms
not with a hair I let loose
...to play with a windy air
,I am a bad girl with a scarf
.a head-scarf, not a veil

I look decent to you
:but my thoughts not so much
;your turbans won't understand
I think of life beyond your chains
.liberated of your myths

,I am a bad girl
:because I dream
,of different land
.a land of peace
I dream of different heaven
.a heaven that makes me free

?Was It The Word Or The Kiss

Verses :
Saad Jasem

English Translation :
Inaam Al-Hashimi]DR :

- 1 -
At the beginning,
Was it the word?
Or, at the beginning,
Twas the kiss!

- 2 -
The kiss
Is a continent
Yet to be discovered;

- 3 -
Is poetry
The kiss of the soul?
Or is it its mysterious code?

- 4 -
The kiss is revelation (disclosure)
And discovery as well;

- 5 -
Butterflies are
Nature’s kisses?
Flowers are too;

- 6 -
Some women are
Like kisses,
And some are
Like knives

- 7 -
Tyrants’ kisses are poisoned,
And occupier’s kisses are deceptive;

- 8 -
Wishes are
Postponed kisses;

- 9 -
A kiss
After a kiss,
You fall on me,
And I become drenched
With pleasure and joy;

- 10 -
Kisses are
Wings that fly us
To the heights of eternity;

- 11 -
Salty were
The kisses
Of your last farewell;

- 12 -
A mother’s kiss
Is a river
That inundates us (children)
With kindness and salvation;

- 13 -
Rain drops
Are God’s kisses
That purify us of rancor
And bitter mistakes;

- 14 -
Waves are blue kisses
Of the sea;

- 15 -
Whenever it closes on me
I kiss you,
And the gates of divine secrets unfold;

- 16 -
Bombs are
Dirty kisses of war;

- 17 -
Every time I kiss you,
You become more radiant
And more feminine;

- 18 -
Is this a kiss?
Or a firebrand?

- 19 -
The kiss is
A prose poem
Scribbled by
An adventurous lover
On the body of the beloved,
Hence illuminates the world;

- 20 -
Doves are
Kisses of peace;

- 21 -
When I don’t kiss you
And you don’t kiss me,
It means that our souls
Are impaired;

- 22 -
In (Eaststan)
The kiss is a scandal,
And a crime, sometimes;

- 23 -
Adulterated
Is your kiss,
You, coquettish hypocrite!

- 24 -
For the kiss, there is no time
And no place big enough to hold it;

- 25 -
Kiss me
So that I become more graceful
And well to be;

- 26 -
Fruits are
The kisses of trees;

- 27 -
Kisses of “eneriends” (enemy-friends)
Are doubtful;

- 28 -
Earth is
God’s
Endless kiss;

- 29 -
Whenever my lips shiver,
I get the feeling that
You are yearning to kiss me;

- 30 -
Is there any more misery
Than that of lovers,
Who send their kisses
To their far away sweethearts,
By registered mail,
Yet, not delivered?

- 31 -
A beautiful female broadcaster
Is the television's kiss
To the unarmed viewer;

- 32 -
And I kissed you
Till your pulse was glowing;
I felt you inspire,
With ecstasy in fire,
And depart
In a ravishing trance;
Then, again,
Like a phoenix,
From your repose
You rise!

- 33 -
The kiss is an address,
Vision and a dream;

- 34 -
Kisses are
Our messages
On earth
- Here’s a kiss
For your soul,
Mahmud Darwish -

- 35 -
The kiss is
A divine creation;
The kiss is
The sperm of the soul;

- 36 -
A drop
After a drop
I drink your body a toast
And get intoxicated with kisses;

- 37 -
You are a kiss
In the size of the world;

- 38 -
How could I kiss you,
Oh, childish neighbor
When your mouth is
An empty hole?

- 39 -
A Cigarette
Is a delectable kiss,
But toxic;

- 40 -
I love you…
By God of the kiss!

- 41 -
Poor Gilgamesh!
He wept and moaned,
Like a woman bereaved of a child,
When the snake purloined from him
The kiss of immortality;

- 42 -
Oh life!
Sometimes,
We need your mysterious kiss
To stay alive;

In the last seat ....last row
No rioting visits at any time
no raising of his finger in the eye of any one
Did not break any pen
His bag did not containing a ruler at any day
To measure his long-bored
Eraser to cleans the
